go sit beside someone and they way say hi, say how are u an go on from there. also i found a very good tip when i was searching this question, go to the polls and survey section, and answer questions, this way u will find stuff to talk about.

Just dont worry about being judged even though it is hard to do so, be happy with yourself and dont worry about others, being nice is what matters.

Always be polite and listen when they are talking. Try talking about topics you have knowledge of like movies, music or sports that way the conversation will flow.

If you are always dressed to impress, you’ll feel more confident. To avoid awkward situations keep a steady rhythm of conversation going. Ask questions about their interests, and things you genuinely want to know about them. Then once you know a little about them…you will be able to talk about a specific topic.

the last thing you want to do is try to think of something to say. that just spawns unnatural, ‘awkward’ conversation.

If you know you are going to be in such a situation – try doing something that makes you feel really confident beforehand – for me, that might be going to a yoga class. Then you go into the situation feeling good about yourself, which will help. And when in doubt about conversation – ask questions! Who they are, what do they do? Most people love talking about themselves, so that should keep the conversation rolling…
