all you really have to do is talk to some of the people in your year. since they are probably as freaked out as you are it shouldn’t be hard making friends. just comment on like moves and wait for them to answer. simple conversations will work. make friends with the band kids too. were really nice if you don’t hit us with a flag.

Omg i had this problem last year (well similar) when i was a freshman joining color guard, i had one friend in band. It was easy in my colorguard to make friends cause everyone was so nice! Talk to them ask questions about the moves and exercises. They will be happy to have you because color guard is usually a small group and there always welcoming new members! Hang out with them during breaks and lunch. I was shy too, but we all became friends! They will be more then happy to help you with anything too. Just smile and look like your having fun!
P.S- my band camp starts in august sometime for my 2nd year! It’s going to be so much fun but you will love color guard!
