Go up to him in the hallway. Just go up and say "Hey, I know this is random but do you have a pencil I can borrow." If he looks like he is scrambling for a pencil he likes you, if he is looking but is not eagerly looking for one, he is looking at you as a random person, if he does not give you one, he is not interested at all. Now after he gives you the pencil say "Thanks. Not many guys would do that." If he engages in a conversation he wants to be friends with you and it could mean something more. Guys like girls that are random and cute. Good Luck if you need anymore tips message me.

Just walk up to him and say hi my name is…whats up? Also, I would recommend talking to people in your classes b/c the point of meeting more people is not picking and choosing its just talking to people.
