You have to go out and meet people more often. Go to places where you’d learn alot of things and at the same time have fun. Some places to meet and talk to people are:
1. English conversation clubs (check for listings in your area).
2. Go with 2 best friends to the mall and ask them to introduce you to their other friends. Like this, you’re growing your friends circle.
3. Go to the gym and meet new people there.
4. Go to sporting events.
All these places, you’d find decent people. All you have to do is say some friendly greetings and be brave to converse with them for atleast a few minutes i.e if they smile and are also willing to converse also with you.
Hope this helps

Stand up for yourself. And go to clubs and meet more people who are intrested in the same things as you which might build your self confidence.

I’ve always been extremely shy. It’s always put me in awkward situations.
When I was younger, I absolutely hated it. I always wished I was more out-going.
To this day, it still bugs me that I can’t be as loud as everyone else. However, I’ve learned that I’m not going to change, so I might as well get used to it.
But there are ways that you can meet more people. Not many things can make your shyness go away, but you can still maintain a lot of friendships.
I would also stay in a close-knit group of friends. When I finally decided to meet other people, I became best friends with someone that I had never even talked to!
It’s amazing how many people you can meet when you decide to expand your horizon and not label people as much.
